> K800i Unlock and De-brand?
Bookmark topic
Hi, it's has been a very long time since I visited this forum more than a year, I think.
I have ordered a K800i on Vodaphone pay-as-you-go. I want to unlock it, de-brand it and flash it with the latest SE firmware. I don't know much about this stuff, I have read a few posts but still need help.
I also noticed a new thing going on, updated the camera drivers. I was wondering if this is a good idea, and the advantages and disadvantages of doing this. Can you revert back to the original SE drivers?
This is where I am getting the phone from:

Please help, thank you.

if you want to unlock it, you need to pay for it. but debranding is for free.
read this guide for debranding:

I have read the guide for de-branding, but where do I get it unlocked from and where do I get the firmware to flash it for free?
Please reply, thanks.

u cant get it unlocked for free. if u never did it before, just visit a mobile shop and let it be done by experts imo. rather pay for it instead u mess up the fone

return the phone and buy it from cpw where it unlocked already think it only £69.95 these days save you the hassle of debranding and unlocking.

Yeah but even carphone warehouse lock their phones.
Like the orange deal for 69.95.
It will be locked on orange. Right?
Or does it come unlocked?

I just spoke to someone from CPW and they said the phone would be locked but it would not be branded, on the phone or the firmware.
But I have already ordered the phone and it should be in the post soon. But this deal costs £8 more than how much I paid. £79.95 total and does not come with free bluetooth handsfree.
But you say unbranding is free right?

Oh that's good.
Could you please show me where the latest firmware for the K800i is and the best flashing program.
Also if I do flash it to a generic version and then I use the SEUS (SE Update Service) will it return the firmware to Vodaphone or put a new genreric one?
