@tranced - Are you acquiring either ONE of THESE

Since you are a camera-guy (taking good pics) . . . I guess you will GO for the K810i. But I am quite contented with how the P990i captures decent-shots .. . I am mastering FIRST the indoor-shots, as we all know that taking pics OUTDOORS is far much easier . . .
Good Luck ! Either of the TWO will DO !

. . if this TRANSLATES to: keypads . . . then I can say that the P990i has a GOOD one, trans ! Just like with that of the

P900 . . very easy to COMPOSE sms/mms when the FLIP is closed . . .

im willing to get either one of them. i was so decided to get the k810 at the beginning, but somehow the p990 came to my mind. i've seen that the p990 is being sold cheaper than the k. i've offered RD$8000.00(us$243.00) for the k810, but ppl are selling them from +RD$8500(i can afford that, but i will be without money) then the p990 is being sold -RD$8500(saw an offer in RD$7500.00 and RD$8000.00). right now i've got the RD$8000.00 with me, in my wallet.
what should i do?

The P990 has an open platform therefore meaning it can and has the potential to do every imaginable task under the sun, so be rest assured you'll be pretty busy with your gadget for quite a long time as compared to getting the K810 which you'll be getting pretty much what you see. Your life will revolve around it for a while because the UIQ3 is very different from SE's Java-based phones and you'll have to know how to maintain one for optimal use (make sure you get one with the final firmware R6E28 and make sure you restart your phone everyday/once in 2 days if you want top notch multitasking performance no thanks to the memory leaks and relatively insufficient RAM for such a powerful phone. Do this and it'll serve you reliably & dedicatedly). If you get a 'bad' P990, exchange it for a new one because it shouldn't give you any headache as some has reported, so make sure it comes with a warranty. I on the other hand love the design of the K810, but I can't go back to a non-smartphone because I'll just be plain bored.

@mode: you are almost convincing me. there's one prob with the warranty. if i buy the p990 it wont be new, probably i get the box(though if it was bought in orange, means that i have warranty for a year). i cant afford to buy a new one but a second-hand one. the wifi is a reason why i wanna buy the p990.

Go for a new K810... It has better camera, it's smaller, simplier and more stable in my opinion... And the most important - it can be modded

Yes, the wifi is pure pleasure to use with the tc. I quite agree with strizlow800 too though, at the end of the day it depends on what you actually need/want. If you're still not sure then yes, a coin toss would be one way to go about with your predicament
