Hi,

Taking the que from a variety of posts & reading a lot of stuff in the interweb, i have the following rather radical "findings" from my own experience.

Am sharing my experience. We may all be technogeeks, sophisticated connoisseurs et al, but once in a while we tend to get a rude awakening that we are just human beings who "just need to get those damn things done" with our devices. I get it very often, and it is from this 'common man's point of view' that i am making my observations.

Following features beat P1i HANDS DOWN:

1. pdf documents: just open a 3 paged pdf document (no graphics at all, only formatted text) side by side in these 2 devices and let me know which is faster and readable.

2. office documents: just open a 5 paged word document as above, and let me know which is faster and readable.

3. screen size & resolution: who dares debating here?

4. Emailing & SMS:
a. Formatting & graphics: P1i offers formatted SMS-ing, but hey, we business users have not transitioned into sending smilies, have we?
b. Menu navigation: "touch-More, touch-View folder, touch-Sent" is a lot difficult than scrolling the 5 way D-Pad down to the sent items folder, especially when you are in the middle of a meeting or a conference call in the very same device. I agree it is relative, but being a fan of both the devices, i dare confess that E61i is more friendly.

5. Battery management: just after 90 minutes, my E61i beeps after a full charge and stays on for 3 days. P1i takes longer, and when i touchscreen through status, i still don't get 100% charge complete.

6. Bluetoothing and Syncing with PC / laptop: E61i, or for that matter any Nokia, scores and destroys all other devices (including P1i) FLAT.

Following are P1i specs that generate a "faboi wow" over E61i:
- UIQ touchscreen: this is more from usability point of view and not functionality. When both S60 & UIQ offer the same things, why does there exist 2 different population prefering one of them?
- Speaker quality - no debate here: P1i is superior to E61i.
- Radio: OK, let me know when did business users start listening to radio during an important situation when their device is assisting them in a communication interchange?
- Wallpaper configuration: when we have active standby / today screen taking over the entire area, where do we have the possibility to admire the lingeries that we put as wallpapers?
- front camera: OK, P1i has it & E61i does not.
- Form factor: believe me, Elena looks a lot sexier, that is why i bought another one for myself!
- RAM: OK, P1i has shitloads of RAM, but to what avail? When i am able to do the same thing better in E61i with 60meg RAM, why would i require 160 meg RAM with a slower processor (208 Mhz)?
- USB charging: OK, P1i is better.

Chants, disclaimers and basic submissions:
- I love P1i, i love P1i, i love P1i.
- I love UIQ, i love UIQ, i love UIQ.

Looking forward to counter flames, rants and camaraderie!

I was lucky enough to find an e61i in a filing cabinet i bought second hand. If it had a touch screen I may have used it as my regular phone but once a touch screen user always a touch screen user. Ill stick with my small p1i for now..
