The idea is to have a cleaning mechanism to the sliding display such that, the slider is moved and the screen is wiped clean.
When the phone is open, the slider rests at the top of the screen. Then, during the closing process of your flip-phone, the slider moves to the bottom of the display, wiping it clean. And then wipes it once more when you are opening the phone again. The same process works beautifully with a slider phone form factors to. When you slide open/closed the keyboard, cleaning slider moves through the display wiping it clean. Simple, elegant, very useful and easily implemented.
