The ear piece speaker has gone on my P1 which i have only had for a month, now i have phoned 02 and they said send it back to them and i can either replace it with another or a new phone, now i see the W960 is due soon on 02 so would it be worth getting that phone instead or just getting another P1.

Both look identical spec wise with W960 having 8GB memory and a 'proper' keypad not the qwerty type which i dont think i'll ever get used to on a mobile phone!!!

The only problems i have had with the P1 is cant connect with the WLAN and there was no games pre-installed when i got it although a firmware upgrade did the trick( but i shouldnt of had to do that on a new phone!)
And now the ear piece vibrates so much when someones talking im having to use headset to make calls!!!!

So W960 or stick with P1?

Many Thanks

I think you've got your answer

If you don't need the P1i keypad & can have either without extra cost then it has to be the W960i. I have one & think its great.

Umm, yeah, word of advice with that.

I don't reckon O2 will get the W960i for a while, prolly late January, because SE haven't released it to the market yet.

I suspect you've got a 28-day faulty exchange thing going on, you got your P1i recently, no?

In which case, you've got 28 days from purchase to exchange it for a new phone, or else it'll go into it's 12/18 month warranty period, meaning you have to send it away for repair.

So, short answer, I really doubt you'll get a W960i. Just keep your P1i, sell it and buy a W960i when it comes out.

Spoke to 02 earlier and they said the W960 will be out from the 7th, that takes me over the 30day return policy, but the guy said swap it for another P1 for now and you get another 28days warranty then if im still not happy with it then i can swap for the W960 so thats what im gonna do for now as im just inside the warranty period for this phone.

Ooooh, he really shouldn't have said that....

The 28 day policy starts from when you get the FIRST phone, not every phone, otherwise you'd get a new phone every month for the next 18 months.

I'd call back and check with someone else, as smart as I'm sure they are, they quite often get things wrong, and we (the store staff) get the stick for it, something I'm all too familiar with :/

I totally agree. They should not have said that at all and as Daedalus85 said about the 28 days policy he is 100% correct.

Also.It is strange that you P1 came with no games installed. My O2 UK P1 came with Vijay Singh Golf and Quadrapop preinstalled.
Only way these and some other apps are missing is if someone has done a master reset to the phone. A firmware update will always restore everything.

Would probably try and get anyone that offers you the exchange for the w960 to put a note on your account. Always found that helped when it came to disputes about what has been offered to me by a service agent
