i need a new phone, and ive decided to get one from a high street shop. ive seen the nokia n73 around for about £99.99
it was on t-mobile though, but i need an orange one. my first question is if i find an orange one will my old sim work or does it have to be a 3g sim?
2ndly if i get one from the o2 shop will it be unlocked?
3rdly, if i decide to buy it on t-mob or something can these be unlocked from a shop easily?

1st - It should do, but unless your sim in relatively new (in the last year) then chances are it won't be able to have 3G data speeds or video calling.
2nd - Yes, locked.
3rd - Buy it from Carphone Warehouse, it'll be unlocked. Just for the record, SHOPS DON'T DO UNLOCKING, everyone assumes phone shops will, but they can't and won't.

no. i mean ill go to some random phone shop (like a repair shop) that does unlocking. i just wanted to know if they would do n93s.
hmm so carphonewarehouse are 100% unlocked?
i just thought 02 would be unlocked as they used to be
i dont really care about 3g or any of that crap. i just dont want all the hassle of switching my number

Another thing everyone assumes.
O2 CONTRACT phones are still unlocked, O2 pay as you go's, are not.

Yeah there are better retailers about, seem very pushy but CPW seem to be going the same way in some stores.

its just the n73 seems expensive in phones 4 u and stuff.
didnt you have to choose a network to have it on?
usually diff networks = diff prices in them places?

Well I usually use CPW but at the time they were the cheapest for the black N73 ME and I wanted to use it on O2 anyway, it was just an added bonus that it came unlocked and unbranded.
