Hello all,

I have just bought K810i, overall its a pretty good phone. But there are few very basic problems -

1. User manual is piece of crap

2. How to install software, games, wallpapers is not mentioned anywhere. File structure on mobile phone and the one that appears when you connect to PC is not same.

3. Even very basic settings like changing font size is not offered. [If anybody knows how to, please let me know.] (My previous model T310 (:-O, me too ) had many more settings than this) In fact I dont see any settings at all except very basic.

Finally my question is, is it same with other manufacturers, models also? And how come so many people dont complain about these prblems?

This has nothing to do with poor support

Anyhow,

1. The manual isn't crap, and is considered being one of the best manufacturers at making manuals. Personally I'd say Nokia is the best and then comes

2. Simply transfer the files and they'll be on the phone. If you want to install an application or a game, transfer it by Bluetooth or IrDA and they'll pop up on the phone, and it will ask if they should be installed. If you transfer by USB, simply put it somewhere on the phone (like "other") and browse to that folder on the phone. Click on the .jar file and it'll install.

3. That's simply not possible.

Oh, and welcome to Esato!

1. No, actually, itgives very helpful and thorough information regarding the phone's functions.

2.Wait a second, you have no idea how to install games? Wallpapers? Just connect your PC via the USB adapter, wait a second till the phone installs the needed drivers and you'll see a message (on you windows PC) that there is some kind of outer memory connected to the PC. Just go to (my) Computer>Phone or Phone memo. card and browse the different folders, puttting the files you want in the respective ones (pictures, videos etc.).
To install games just put the .swf file of the Java game (or any kind of software) wherever you want (I usually put it in Others) and then select it via the K810 and it'll install.

3.No, i don't think it's possible. Why do you need it anyway?

@theredcomma

I have to agree with u,I'm long time Se user , and i found that Se support and driver are difficult to install.I went through so much hassle to install the w810 driver on my vista, finally all efforts in vein.There support for vista and mac is horrible.

Ah!!!,

User Manual is good! What makes you think like that? And it surely does not cover all possible options. Just tell me how files are listed under "Artist" heading in media player?

Well its not really a support issue in usual sense, but this IS related to support. I dont have any problem with product as such...

Copy files via bluetooth, Ir, well, ok. What if I dont have one?

Copy files into "Other" folder... this is an assumption for me, shouldnt there be some folder named "Application" or "Games"
Shouldnt these things be mentioned somewhere?

Changing font is not possible! how poor... Even my old phone had it...

Well I know how these things can be done now, so please dont consider them as questions. Bottom two were the questions.

But I expected such explanation from manual itself.

it's none of SE's business if you dont have a bluetooth dongle or IrDA port.,

first we need to put the application into the "other" folder and install it afterwards in application or games folder

we can actually change the font by modding

The manuals from the se website are normally more comprehensive than the manuals supplied in the box.

Yep, you are right, but giving proper direction for all possible connectivity options is.

@jcwhite_uk
yes, I also noticed that, User Manual I got with the phone is smaller than one available for download. Download one is much better.

Why nobody accepts that this IS a problem. Because of wonderful communities and people like you, this does not seem like a big issue...
