> K850i Network status on standby screen
Bookmark topic
I live far out in the good old countryside, and decided to spend christmas, even further out in the countryside. the mobile coverage was almost non exsistant as i was in a valley, but what was shown on my standby screen was very confusing.
i'm on t-mobile, and coverage for them out here is a bit on and off, anyway, i'm used to seeing either "T-Mobile" or "Emerg. calls only" on my screen, and i'm guessing "emerg. only" means that there is a mobile mast in the area, just not for my network.
but i was surprised to see most of the time the message "No access to nwk." but when i ran a scan for available networks, almost all the network providers possible appeared, but it just wouldn't work.
i was just wondering if anyone had an idea what the difference between "emerg. calls" and "No access" is.
sorry for such a long post.
and a merry xmas and a happy new year to all!

to get "emergency calls only" you do need to have a signal from a network, getting "no access" means you don't even have access to other networks in the area. Finding networks when doing search is nothing strange, the signal is strong enough for the phone to pick it up, but it's to weak (or no capacity is available) for connecting it to the network.

So its just like 'no network coverage' Thank you, it was bugging me. Not as much ah having to climb to the top of a cliff to get signal, and 3g signal at that!
