I have a couple of questions with regards to the N95 as I am seriously considering getting one soon.
1). Has anyone managed to find a solution to get Tomtom running with the internal GPS?
2). Whats the branding on the O2 versions like?
3). Is there any disadvantages of getting it to replace my faithful (its never crashed in 6 months of ownership) P990i?

My o2 n95 has no branding on the casing and only start up and shutdown screens.

Not sure about the P, but the N95 might use a little more battery.

Which model are you getting?

N95-1 Original
N95-2 8GB
N95-3 US version

I had both the N95 and the P990i for a short while together. I preferred the N95, it's web browser was better, I felt it's wifi implementation was better, plue the inbuilt GPS support (though mine still seems a bit reluctant to find a GPS signal, even with the latest firmware installed!). There's no touchscreen but that's not really much of a problem to me, and the camera's pretty damn good too (though arguably not as good as the K850i, still fine by my standards!)

Hi all,

Sorry Boba i didn't get it to work with the internal GPS and even if it did i wouldn't use it, as IMO the internal GPS on any device is inferior to using and external GPS receiver and will still be for quite some time.

As i find the size of an external GPS to be small enough to not be a problem and the power and accuracy to be much better as well as the battery life being good, which means less drain on your devices battery as well.

As to number 2 no idea but i would debrand it any way as it is really easy to do and means you get the latest firmware when it's realeased.

As to number 3 i have never had a crash or freeze on any of the N95's i have used but the speed increase may be a bit of a shock to your system but I'm sure you will get used to it. Otherwise the advantages are to numerous to go into here.

Marc
