At midnight, I mean the approximate time of your particular time zone’s “New Year” crossover the volume of mobile-based messages from texters sending out “New Year” tidings and cheer caused something of a system-overload.text messages failed to send, or took much much longer than usual, around the stroke of midnight,Anyone here experience similar delays?

that's quite normal for that time of the year

in Telia's (one of the swedish mobile network providers) network 16.5 million SMS were sent on new years eve (21.4 million until 10am 1st January 2008)... (there are ~9 million people living in Sweden, to compare with )

It was quite bad in Hong Kong - I'm on Smartone-Vodafone. Dropped my calls 5 times within 10 minutes. My New Year greeting only went through to others at 5am, and I sent them spot on at midnight

Ofcourse this is a normal situation especially during the festive season. As long as there is a national or international event which makes more people to stay on the line you should atleast expect such a thing.

As of now my gprs is still not available
