Probably been asked before but I couldn't see much discussion on the issue of removing the pre-installed images, sounds etc. on, in my case, a T300 (I assume the same is true for the T68 etc)
Firstly, why has SE decided that you can't delete them? I can delete the games (all but Erix - why?) but I am stuck with 50 or so images, the vast majority of which I will never even bother to view let alone use. The same with the tones.
Why aren't we allowed to reclaim that space for our own use?
Therefore, secondaly, is there *any* way that we could get rid of them? I assume that each of those files is tagged in some way so as to not allow deletion.
They have to be in the same user memory (as opposed to a permanent ROM) that you store your own files in since there space used by them is shown in the memory view so surely there must be a way of de-tagging them so as to allow them to be deleted?
I suppose the limitation is that we can't access the file structure directly, only upload files.
Of course, the easy answer would be for SE to produce a software update that takes the locks away and allows the deletion of all files.
Any bug that can be exploted? e.g. sending a file of the same name etc.?
Petition to SE...?

The images take up the initial amount of memory, as well as some user memory when you have viewed them. In effect, they consume twice as much memory as they should.
I performed a master reset on my faulty T68i, and lost the majority of the images, all the MMS templates etc, but they did not take up any space, I had over 900k free according to the memory use screen

my little chipmunks, no solution to this problem it seems. one of my friends has a t68m and he could not delete anything also until he upgraded the software to the t68i. then he could delete. these are my suspicions, either it has to do with the network lock of the phone, becuse together with the sony ericson pics and sounds, i can not delete also the specific net provider pics and sounds; the other is if the will be future software upgrades.
can people who have this problem post here and tell if their phones are locked to a specific net or not...then we might find a solution...otherwise, we suffer....or kick SE t300 in the trash

I got mine on Orange (UK) pre-pay. They included two pictures but they could be and were deleted. However, the shutdown screen is Orange - where does that come from?
I think we need to all keep on to SE to sort this issue out.
