Over on M-R we don't have any Blackberry user's, but i notice a rising number of Esato members use them.
What exactly are the pro's and con's of such devices!!

it really is difficuly to explain...
only way to explain is to go and get one and use it..
you will see..
it just works! no two ways about it....
fully customisable...
oh, and you lie! I'm a reg'ed user at MR and I use a BB (well when it's not at repair)

Flawless push email, stable OS, speed, natural and easy to use GUI, good text input, solid build quality, great screen...
I guess they have lost their edge a little in recent times due to the ever expanding range of smartphones and PDAs but RIM still continue to produce increasingly stylish and very high quality handsets with the functionality to match.
Reggie's BB is the exception that proves the rule, BB's are usually rock solid in my experience

OS Speed is debatable, IMO...and 65k colour screens should be timewarped back to 2004(I don't car if WM machines only support 65k colours too, this is 2008, and everyone else(except SE) has passed 262k, and is on 16m colours)......
Apart from those issues, for an Email-based device(as multimedia ability is still slightly lacking), they are pretty damn amazing...and their trackballs ARE awesome......
Make an all black/white Pearl with a 3.2AF cam, 262K screen, high-quality music player, WLAN AND GPS(not one or t'other), and it'd probably sell out......

Well, old fashioned or not I reckon the screens are perfect for what the device is intended for
And I'm used to using a P990 so my blackberry goes like s**t off a stick compared to that

No arguments there,
Cyco!
Compared to smartphones released in the last 12 months though(thinking ARM11 S60 devices, and the latest 600mhz-processored WM ones), a bit of a performance boost wouldn't hurt......

RIM may well be behind the competition spec wise, but at least they get it right!! they don't rush devices out every 2 weeks and leave you hanging for an update with or an internal GPS that can't be used with TomTom
I used to be

through and through but for me they just don't cut it any more and for that matter neither do Nokia!
I am bored stiff of my N95 even with the Light Sabre app and lightning fast web browser, it just bores me, but the Curve however well that just makes me smile every time I use it, it really is a pleasure to use, it does what you want it to when you want it too and doesn't fuss about or piss you off or make you wait weeks, It is graceful enough to switch itself off at 10pm and back on again at 7am and will even sing a gentle song whilst doing so!
It is the best device I have ever used for MSN etc whilst using Jivetalk (which I might add is the only piece of mobile software I have actually gladly paid for!!)
As for media the Curve is a match for my N95 and it some instances betters it!
I've had the Curve for quite a few months now and not once have I considered getting rid off or replacing it and won't do so until a newer better version comes along!
All of the above is of my own opinion and is not stated in order to provoke an attack but just my findings laid out for all to read!
