hello i have debranded my p1i with xs++ from o2 uk everything went ok
i then updated with seus which recognized my phone as wg1 which was ok so i updated but when i check my firmware versions here http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/CDA/P1i

all of my firmware versions correspond to wg1 except for phone version

it should be CXC162143 R9J005 but it is actually CXC162037 R9J005
does anyone know why?

also i seem to have the green tint on my screen in camera mode which i didnt have before!!

another issue i have which i think i have always had is that on some websites i cant log in eg forums, i log in and it says thanks for logging in and then when it redirects me to where i was it then says im not logged in!!
i have cookies enabled on the p1i so i cant figure out why it dont work
some sites when i try to log in say i DONT have cookies enabled but i do
even google says i dont have then enabled when i try to change my search preferences.

also one other issue which i have always had and still have is when im downloading something sometimes it gets to 100% but alot of the time it stops and even if i click resume it doesnt do anything this happens even if im connected to a highspeed wifi connection
i have tried turning off the dialup timeout but this doesnt work

i know the green tint thing isnt really fixable

but if anyone knows how to fix these other problems then i would be very grateful for some help as i find the cookies and download stopping really annoying

thanks

so you are saying that SEUS didn't brick your phone?! I dont know the last time i tried an SEUS update with an o2 handset it bricked the phone luckily i was within the 28 day period phoned 02 and got a new handset. Ever since then i have wanted to update, but i am afraid of bricking it again.

As far as i know i have one of the earliest firmwares. But the phone seems to function ok, maybe a tad too slow but on the whole it is ok. Dont know if i should try the SEUS.

In response to your questions however, have you tried shutting down the web browser and looking for the downloaded file? I think this happened to me and when i shut it down i found the file which i had downloaded.

Also as for the green tint, you can colour adjust in a photo program to remove it, or phone up o2 and complain see what they say.

well since i dont use the web browser too much due to o2's crappy web package, and when i do use it is mostly for e-mailing attachments. I am not sure on the extent of the issue.

However, i could log into my gmail, deviantart, and work websites without a problem. So i cant really help too much there.

i would try updating it it shouldnt brick it maybe the other one you had was faulty??

could be that the handset itself was faulty who knows. I've also heard it could have been my usb socket, internet connection etc etc.

At the moment, because there is not official change log it is hard to decide if it is worth upgrading.

I read that you cant adjust the position of personal wallpapers with the new firmware, and this is something i like and works fine with the old firmware.
Also the new firmware brings some speed updates, which i would also like. So without a change log it is difficult to say if it really is worth the risk.

I might look into XS++ as i heard that it allows your phone to be rescued if indeed you do brick it, so i might try and get more information on what.

What i may do in the end is take the phone to a service centre see what they say, although i need to find time to do that

i get what you are saying there

i like to have the latest firmware myself i dont know why as
i have had two o2 firmwares and now a wg1 firmware and to be honest i dont see any difference between any of them!!

it would be could to have a change log as i would like to see what they have supposed to have fixed/improved

Well I'll ring up and see what they say tomorrow and if they can do a firmware update, i'll also ask to replace the camera module under the warrenty. Could be worth the trip to the service centre afterall.

Could i also ask what cable did you use to connect the phone to the PC. Because everywhere i go i see they state a DCU 60 cable, i had, and still have a DCU 65 cable, mabye that was why i had problems...
