My k550 just refuses to zoom-in on an object when im using the camera in the 2 mp image size mode.
it does zoom quite well in vga mode!!
help!!!

Some SEs like the K550i can't zoom in 2mp mode, it's a firmware limitation - e.g. some K750i firmware versions didn't allow you to zoom in 2mp mode, whilst others did.

It won't zoom in the bigger sizes. Only in VGA. I'm not sure why exactly, but most SE phones are like this.

To be honest apart from reflashing the phone there isn't much you can do - except take pictures you intend to zoom on in VGA mode.
To be honest though, I find digital zoom useless as the image degrades the more you zoom in. You can get the same effect by using an image editing programme on your PC (The phone might have an inbuilt function to do this too, can't remember!) and cropping the image.
Roll on optical zooms on camphones!

Yeah I know it's disappointing that we can only do digital zoom in VGA. But correct me if I am wrong, if you set the camera to some other mode (like the Burst shot) you can also do digital zoom?
