I updated my K790a via SEUS. The phone was acting a bit strangely, so I performed a Master Reset. Now the factory-installed "Photo Mate" application is gone! And it's not available for download from either.

Is there any way to get it back?

Note that this app was locked, so it couldn't be moved/copied to the Memory Stick, via Bluetooth, etc., so backing it up was impossible

Try these:
http://rapidshare.com/files/7596570/PhotoMate.jar

Thanks, but I think both of those are messed up? The RapidShare one is extremely messy on the screen. The also doesn't work (nothing appears except a blue background), also the phone thinks it's called " _ _ _ _" (four squares, not "Photo Mate").

This one shows me a blue screen with nothing on it. The soft keys at the bottom say "Select" or "Cancel." If I click down one, these change to "Download" and "Options." Most options are grayed out, except to Check for Updates, which hangs the app. "Download" downloads something that's 320 KB then hangs.

WTF

It can't be my phone, I just exchanged it (other one had issues) and the new one has the exact same problems with the above programs.

It can't be the installation - just copy the .JAR file, click "Install" on the phone, and it's ready to use, right?

It can't be the app - how could each one of the above yield problems?

So what's the f'n problem?

Ok i looked in to it & it requires more than just the jar & jad files.
You need to copy files into the fs directory too. To do this you'll need
to connect your phone using XS++. If you need those files let me know & i'll upload them for you.

This sounds way too complicated. I'm almost sorry I asked.

Too bad these FW updates from SEUS still pretty much need a phone reset. My phone was acting most strangely until then.
