Hi having got a 3G phone at last - I'm not entirely sure of the benefits... there seems to be video calling - at a fairly high price

- there must be more...
Do I need a new SIM to run 3G functions? - I have currently an ancient BTCellnet PAYG SIM
- if I would need to change, are there any benefits to keeping an old SIM card? - or should I run the credit out and change provider and take my number with me?
Thanks

u should ask your operator, if your sim card is ok for video calls and 3g features or not.

If you have a Bt Cellnet Sim card then you will need to gain a new o2 3g card.
O2 3g cards are free and can be swapped over in a o2 shop. All you need to do is take your phone and old sim card and the shop will do the rest.
Or you can ring o2 customer care who will send you a new one out for free.
Any o2 customer can always check to see if they have a new 3g card by looking at the sim number on the carg.
The card may start 89441 xxxxx xxxxx xxxx 3gxx
If you card has a 3g near the end, then its a 3g card.
Also if you are on a o2 contract then o2 recently changed there policy to include video call mins from you min bundle.
Once you are out of you bundle, then you are charged for a normal standard charged call.
O2 video call charges are the same as a normal voice call on contract.
If you are on PAYG then the charges are 50p per min.
Hope the info helps and enjoy 3g.
I luv it and use it when ever im in 3g coverage, which i have to say itsnt very much currently on o2, which is a shame

@arvi - Better change you SIM-card to a NEWER one . . . old-sim (3-5 years old) might GO berserk . . anytime

I think probably more like 8 years old...
It came in this shape of phone...
LOL
Was then in a T610, then P900, P905

and now my P1i
If I take it to an O2 shop to get it changed will they transfer my credit and phone number straight away?
Thanks
