I posted too fast and too much bla, bla, bla in my other question before, for which I apologize, now I seek advice again.

* * * *
My Sony Ericsson P1 has bugs.
I have a Sony Ericsson P1i and it has following bugs:

* Incomming SMS messages most be opened first before I can delete it.
* Old and deleted mail accounts still showing up on the today screen.
* When phone is charging and turned off, some little backlight still on.
* Mail inbox only avail at the today screen, the inbox is missing inside the Messaging app.

Nothing else, but thats more than enough to be annoying like hxxx.

Latest firmware accoding to SEUS today.

Can I repair it somehow or is it a bad evil machine?

Ps. I dont like to sell it or get rid of it, it has become a valued tool eventhough buggies.

-Maybe I just need to get a different mail program and put it as a shortcut button on the standby screen? And just live with the rest but maybe there are more I can do?

There must be a .ini file where prefernces are stored for the today screen, since my old mail account wount go away?

Things like that...

I can delete my sms without opening them on my P990 by just pressing the del button on the keyboard.

Have you tried the delete key?

Weird...

Maybe they thought people would like to see the charge bar. If always off, people would be complaining otherwise.
Have you noticed that while charging the phone is never really off?
Just keep the phone on.

What do you mean? Have you tried using the cursor keys to change mailboxes?

(a) It will not work with the keys in the messanger.app , the inbox is gone, only avil at the stand by screen. The today thing...

(b) Its not the green light at the bottom part of the unit that is showing, the whole screen is on fire sort of speaking, the screen is somehow with little bit backlight on when charging, not much at all but enough to make me annoyed.

(c) Where are the .ini files for the standby screen (at preferences its still there), so I can remove the old deleted mail accounts I once had?

Maybe its a weird P1?

But thanks for the input, could be its a beta CIQ 3?

But my firware is latest and world generic 1..

Hmmm.

I just get a different mail program and all problems are solved more or less.

To bad that the most usefull app, (the built-in messaging.app) is not working too well on my China P1i.

Well, maybe HK and Phils model have same troubles?

Well, its working fine in general, just that the mail.app (ho ho ho, now I write about like with my Mac OSX programs) is not so good on this China model, can I get a different mail program for P1i?

I heard about a mail program for UIQ 3.0 but is it good? and where?

One more thing, the contacts.app, messanger.app and the installed Shozu.app starts automatically every time I re-start my phone, can I remove auto start-up items somewhere in the registry?

Maybe there is no such thing as registry in P1?

Please forgive a Mac OSX person this silly questions....

Contacts, Messages and Calendar are the most important applications on a mobile phone. You don't want those closed, even if you use an alternate contacts/mail program.
