> Does anybody miss the calling card feature?
Bookmark topic
I bought a t650 cuz I thought it would have the calling card feature that my old t68 had. But no luck. Am I the only dope that used this feature? You think SE will put it back in if I whine enought? Are there any alternatives?
Thanks,
Diego

I have a calling card that gives me really good intl rates. To access this service I must first call a special number then I am prompted to enter my PIN, followed by the number I want to call.
On the T68 you would goto "Manage Cards" and enter the phone number and PIN info. Then when you need to call intl you simply enter the phone number and then press and HOLD the send/call key for a couple of seconds. The phone realizes you want to use your card so it stores the number, calls the card, enters the PIN and then dials the number. It was/is great.
I found a java midlet that does this on the T650 which is REALLY nice. But is slightly less usefull because you have to go thru the menus to load the app before entering the intl number to be called. The press and hold of the T68 for the card was very nice.

Nice,that's interesting and useful indeed...
I wasn't aware of such feature.
Hey Diego could you please provide a link to that java app?
I simply can mod my k800 menu to have a shortcut to any app in my activity menu

I know it is not that quick, but if you have VOIP account then you can sent message with the no. you want to call and if the line is not in use, you would be called and would be able to talk for Voip provider rates. At least it is like that with the provider I use...
