India's TATA company has produced the NANO, (No relation to the ipod Nano) the cheapest car in the world at only £1,290 or in india 100,000 rupees brand new.

Not only Tata..two other Indian car makers Maruti and Bajaj are coming up with their own Rs 1 Lakh variants.

If these cars sell well (which no doubt they will), then this trend could soon follow in other developing countries of the world...
