Okay first post on here but undoubtably not last.

i got given a p900 with the p910 firmware put onto it a few months ago and it worked flawlessly. i did a quick search and turned up nothing particularly substantial related to my problem.

today while i was in college for some reason it simply stopped seeing the memory card. then a few hours later it started to work again. then it started being intermittent about wether or not it would work.then it stopped working completely. now im no stranger to electrical components (doing electrical/electronic engineering at college) so i figured i would open it and see if i could find a problem with the card socket. i currently havent got as far as removing the phone motherboard yet as something caught my eye.

a long hair thin wire. stretching from what seems to be a resistor to the bottom of the phone. it doesnt seem to be physically connected to anything and doesnt seem to have been soldered at any point so im wondering what purpose this could be and if its anything to do with the card fault. id also like some ideas onto what could be causing the fault if its not the wire.

i will try and get a picture up of it but my digicam sucks so i cant promise anything. also it has definitely been opened before as the screws that hold the motherboard shield were missing.
