Hi.
Sometimes my P1i doesn't want to receive mail headers from POP3 server. It just drops the connection.
Is it known problem?
Andrei.

yes,it's a connection bug.I had that in M600i&P990i,too.I still don't know why.I either put it in flight mode and back in phone mode back to re-register with the network or restart.Check if your gprs connection is first in the internet connections folder cuz if you use a wifi spot sometime afterwards it forgets to put the gprs conn. back first.

Thank you for replay but I'm not sure it is the case. I tried but it did not help.
It looks more like a bug in the mail client - if I look at the intercepted network traffic log I see the phone connects to the server, sends username and password, receives the total number of messages and just drops the connection. Sometimes it receives mail headers but mostly - not.
Very disappointing, especially when Nokia works fine with the same e-mail.

Is this perhaps dependant upon certain Pop3 mail providers?
I have 3 POP3 accounts that are set up on my P1 and have never encountered such problems!

Well, of course it can be. If I'd have any idea about the reason I'd be able to fix it as it's my own mail server...
Regards,
Andrei.

Except for the problem above (which disappeared lately and I tend to believe it's a network problem) I get my emails every half an hour as planned. Try with GMail or Yahoo.co.uk as both offer free POP3 and see if it does the same thing - it might be your server...
