I have a SE P990i and I have recently purchased a SE HBH-DS980 headset and nearly everytime i listen to music on the phone, when its about 30 seconds - 2 minutes into the song, the phone turns off.
I have to take the battery out and re-insert it to turn the phone back on.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I have also tried using a HBH-DS970 headset and I still get the same results.

Here is the info from my phone:
CXC 162037 R9GA001
CXC 162058 R5A01
CXC 162036 R6E28
CDA 162007/2 R6E28

Ive searched on the net and cant find anything, I tried removing the handsfree and reconnecting it, installing latest firmware that was available.

I have had the phone connected to the headset for a while but its only when trying to play a song and after about 1 minute the phone either freezes or turns off and I have to remove and reinsert the battery...

Does anyone have any suggestions?? (

Is it always at the same part of the same song? If so then it could be file system corruption on the memory stick. Try reformatting it and copy the music files to it again.

The p990i pairs fine with the headset and I have paired and used the headset fine with an old SE T630 and Motorola V3.

The problem is when playing a song the P990i either turns off or freezes, i have tried different playing mp3s which are stored on the memory card.

im stuck

This is a very unique idea by it is designed to save battery life, Embrace it learn to love it! don't be a hater!

I'd try formatting the card a reset and a re-pair!

Arrgghh resetting my memory card? I got like 1GB of music on it

Oh well, ill give it a try tonight if u think it might help and keep u posted...

btw.. in my first message i wrote.. "Nearly - everytime I try to play a music file.." but I dont mean nearly I mean Every! time... so fustrating

But I dont understand if this is a feature, why would the phone turn off or freeze? I have had it previously notify me that it would restart to increase performance but in this case it wont turn back on unless i remove and reinsert the battery...

The first line contains a little sarcasm mate take it with a pinch of salt!

1GB of data shouldn't take that long to shunt!
