Hi
I'm not that impressed with my K850i and have been looking around for a new phone, it id either a n95 8GB or a W960i, I'm leaning towards the SE as I've always owned one and I can find my way round it.
Anyway could someone who owns a 960 tell me how you get along without joystick and when you receive a sms is the tone length restricted to about 6seconds like other SE mobiles?
And finally is it any good???!!!
Cheers

define what you mean by the term, 'good'...... guess thats a personal decision, whats good to me/us might not be good for you! so you are best off going to play with one in store! or if you are not able to try one out your self, tell us your requirements, and then w960 owners can tell you if its good for 'YOU'!
the msg tone in

phones is 12 seconds, afaik its the same in w960...

Thanks, I appreciate that 'good' is very difficult to measure what I meant was 'buggy'.
In the UK the sms tone length on my k750i, k800i, w810i and k850i have all been 6 seconds only my p900i would play the full tune.
Cheers

I have just gone over from K630/750/800/850 to W960. When I first got it I was disappointed, as you may be with a 15 min play in a shop. However over a few days I have got t know it well and really love it. Obviously has not got the camera of the k850 but much more elsewhere instead.
I was worried about using the stylus, but in practice after you have set up most things up to your liking, I can use the normal apps (contacts, phone, messaging and web) without the sylus (although it would be good to have something external to move horizontally across the screen.
The web is fantastic and very fast with WLAN. Even Google maps fairly trots along.
Can't see myself going back to kXXX

My previous phone was the K800i and I loved the phone, had it to 18 months or so. So I was really unsure about upgrading to the W960 as it was sooo different with respect to GUI and control... but after a day or so of playing around and getting use to it I love it!! I'm very fussy about phones and in comparison I had an LG viewty in Novemer, when it first came out, but hated it as it was all touch screen and was not very customizable, so sent it back. The W960 has a great screen, GUI, touchscreen, jog wheel and real buttons to text and is a Joy to use

Thanks leeboy
finishing this cuppa and then off to town, is the sms tone length still restricted to a short burst? I know my other symbian phone p900i wasn't but SE seemed to have made it compulsory now!

depends what mean about tone length? have just tried it by sending myself a text, if you select a sound file instead of the the default tone or click it plays the sound file until you "view" the text message, i have to admit its a little annoying (maybe abug) cos if you choose not to view the text it plays the sound file until you do!
