Ok I need some help here,

My w960 works all day long without any hiccups, i can set my alarms to go off during the day, one after the other and there is no problem.

However when i set my alarms to wake me up in the moring, usually at 7.30am, and 2 5 minute intervals thereafter, every morning without fail my first alarm would go off ok, but then the phone freezes and the other alarms dont go off, when i pick the phone up and press a button, it vibrates for about 30 seconds and then needs the battery taken out. EVERY MORNING!!!!!

I have trawled through the internet, hoping to find that this is a common fault, but i can see no mention of it anywhere, on any site or forum, so i then thought, maybe its just a fault with my own firmware, so i ran seus.

all seemed ok throughout the day, tested alarms several times, no problems, next morning, 1st alarm went off then phone froze.

I made sure that after running seus not to install any 3rd party software just in case it was causing it, (i do get a pop up when i switch on to install 'capture screen' but i decline it.)

So naturally i thought, it must be this version of firmware thats causing it (O2 UK Branded), its not been out long on o2 and perhaps this is wy nobody else has reported the problem yet...

So I de-branded the phone and ran seus again to install wg1 firmware, my o2 startup screen is now replaced by a nice generic walkman start up screen. i know a lot of people on this forum are using this firmware so i assumed it would fix my bug, given that no one else had reported it.

alas... here i am again this morning, 1st alarm ok, had to remove battery. im beginning to thing that, as it's just me that seems to be suffering this fault, perhaps its something more than the firmware...

i am still within 28 days of purchase so i could return my handset for exchange without them realising i debranded it, but i really dont want the hassle when im almost convinced the next one will have the same bug, im certain someone, somewere is suffering the same problem, and as long as i can be assured that it will be fixed in an update, ill be happy.

please, is anyone suffering this same problem, and does anyone know a work around for it?

I have SE p1i and the built-in alarm failed on me one time (yes it was properly configured), it just didn't ring. So I installed HandyClock and it works just fine now+it has more options. I suggest you to install HandyClock and forget about that built-in sometimes-I-work-sometimes-I-dont't alarm application.

Best guess (if you're mixing the "Time" alarm clock and the calendar alarms) - could be there's some sort of conflict on the scheduler for the alarms.

And it's definitively a bug, and absolutely something SE should take a look at - so go to sonyericsson.com , hit the "contact" button, and choose for example reply by email, and then phones (or whatever it is), and write a bit about what happens. (Also, please write a note in the wiki ).

I've noticed with my alarm that when it goes off I cannot snooze/silence it using the volume keys. On my K850i I could use the volume buttons to silence the alarm but on this phone there is an application on the screen when the alarm sounds.

I cannot remember what the application was, still groggy from just waking up but I had to press Done and then it took me to my alarm with the snooze and silence buttons.

Am I doing something wrong?

guess what...

it didnt work, the handy clock alarms didnt even go off, not even the first one.

the green event light at the charging port will flash but thats it.

i had no response from the touchscreen or keypad, screen remained black, had to remove the effing battery AGAIN!

im begining to think that this is not an alarm bug at all, because the alarm works perfectly throughout the day, and so does the rest of the phone, but when i wake up in the morning it's frozen AAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

genuinely, i think my phone has an attitude problem, it doesnt like mornings. does anyone else have this issue?

might take it back

Hm...that's weird. Ok maybe you have two applications "fighting"? Which apps are you running when that occurs? What about your calendar task or meeting alarms? Maybe something goes wrong when the day changes (after midnight)...

i thought that too, so i tested it with all apps closed, it still did it. i have been running my phone with the business desktop as opposed to the walkman one. i have switched these tonight to see if that makes a difference. cant think of anything else.

i have conducted an experiment in work, i have set up a new w960 in business mode, it is left on all night with 2 alarms set to go off after i get in tomorrow, if the phone freezes i know its not just me, if not i shall be exchanging mine.
