> New Orange Data Tariffs Feb 2008?
Bookmark topic
Hi guys
I've been coming across a few rumours on the net on various blogs/forums etc saying Orange are about release new Data tariffs in feburary 2008.
Looking at the current state of Orange's Data and especially with T-mobile & O2 now offering 'unlimited' data for £7.50ish I just wondered how much truth was in this or whether anyone else has heard more?
Cheers

Orane Premier is a service that you can either get invited to for free or you can pay £10 a month for it....
lets you speak to English people only, and that's about the only benefit I've found.. luckily I got invited to it!!
Spoken to an Orange retail employee and they know nothing about it.... can only assume that it will be mid-late feb...

Orange are in talks at the moment to update there new data Tarrifs. Anouncements were due in Feb (No confirmed date though)
Orange are also in talks at present in changing all the Voice Tarrifs, as rival networks are leaving them behind.
Any way a little more info if you want to stay with Orange:
Data Protection
In 2007 Orange was found to be in breach of the Data Protection Act by the Information Commissioner's Office (UK) (ICO) after complaints from customers about the use of their personal information[3][4].
The company was also criticised in the press for its handling of personal data, following complaints of Orange customer data being used by independent mobile sales companies in the practice of slamming. Orange denied any involvement[5].
Image in the United Kingdom:
In the UK, Orange has come under pressure from customers to improve its customer service department as a result of many reports of poor existing customer services and expensive mobile contract upgrades compared to previous years, other mobile phone networks and Orange's deals for new customers. The deteriorating customer service and increased customer dissatisfaction has coincided with the takeover by France Telecom and the departure of Hans Snook as CEO of the company.
In response, an advertising campaign was run to reinforce the company's commitment to customer service, although many existing customers are still not convinced, which has led to many moving to other mobile phone service networks. According to UK Mobile Market Statistics 2006 published by the Wireless World Forum, Orange has now fallen to fourth place behind O2, Vodafone, and T-Mobile in UK market share. Campaigns have also been run to advertise the new 3G service, featuring well-known faces such as Elton John and Stephen Fry. Jane Copeland has been one of the voices of Orange since the company's early years.

Yep, it was a different story with Hans.
Once a Unique, pioneering network.
Now they offer nothing at all.
The freinds that i have left now on orange get theres sim free from CPW.
One of my frirends will cancel his orange contract on monday. He bought a iphone and loves it.

Cheers guys
Orange premier huh so i just sit back & wait for them to ask me onboard

but isn't this just the 'dedicated customer service' you go on with a 'panther' contract?
Anyway I didn't realise they were also looking at thier call plans as well, that can only be a good thing.
To be honest with my 3 magic numbers so far, & plenty of additional minutes & texts to keep me happy, data was the only thing that's letting me down at the moment. The only good thing is with the other networks all offering good data packages/bolt-ons etc this at least gives me a good bartering chip when its time to upgrade.
Other than that its as you say, just wait to late February for any news!

Hi all
Just been flicking through the february issue of Orange's high st brochure, & right at the back in the small print (pages 35-38) there seems to be some interesting stuff.......
'Unlimited bundles'
'Sim only'
'Pay monthly magic numbers'
'Buyback''Mobile & broadband offer'
'Orange world daily access -PAYG'
'Orange world daily access -PAYM' &
'Orange world off-peak access -PAYG'
ALL the above T&C's although started at different dates ALL say they are valid/available untill 29th february 2008.
Now I may be reading into this too much but do you reckon Orange are finally about to update thier data tariffs? thier animal tariffs? or maybe both?

In the great early years i always swore by no other network but Orange. The only good thing now is there coverage and call quailty is still the best. I am happy with my 500 Favorite Place mins on O2 pay and go and unlimited data. If Orange did all that i would go back to them cos all my family are with Orange. Their current pre pay tariff offers nothing to beat the competition. Its a shame though im sure Orange will get things back to the way they were.
