Got my first k810i about two weeks ago. The screen was not installed completely straight. That drove me nuts for two days so I returned it to the shop and got a replacement. The second one has a better screen but the speaker absolutely sounds like rubbish. Small, tinny and really weak, it clips out listening to anything other than non-SE ringtones. Any MP3 files sound really bad and playing them at top volume is torture.

I compare it to my k750i and it's day and night. The k750i blows it away. The same file on both phones aren't even close.

Now, i'm wondering if this is simply the speaker in MY phone or if all the k810is are like this. It's a brilliant phone with a great camera and beautiful UI. But, it's ruined by such a crap speaker in my case.

My k810's speaker is great! It's just as loud as K750's (ok maybe just a bit quieter). Sound is crystal clear(although it's a bit weak on the bass side, but that's no biggie for me).

You might wanna steer away from SE phones if you want a speaker that's decently loud, try Nokia, because SE speakers are impractical for outdoor and in-car use which makes it rubbish in my book.

It is certainly not crystal clear on my phone, unless I turn the volume way down. But, then it's almost too quiet to hear. Sounds like I got another lemon.

Thanks.

Of course that little speaker is not good when it comes to "GOOD" sound.. it works great for ringtones but nothing more..
I dont even understand why you care, i hope you dont listen to your music thorugh that.

I have a K800i by the way.

I care because it sucks. MP3 ringtones shouldn't sound like a bad kid's toy when the k750i I have that's over a year old sounds clear and strong. The phone is a huge leap ahead of the k750i but the speaker is a joke. I hate it when companies take one step forward and one back like that.

Did the speaker on the first K810i suck too? Or only the 2nd one? If its only on the 2nd one, then it might be a problem with just that unit. If both sounded the same, then its probably the way all of them are.

I barely had time to use the first one before returning it. I don't recall it sucking like this though. I'll just use this one until it blows up then get SE to fix it. If I play it at max volume, maybe it will kill itself.
