Megabass is a trademark of SE.I don't think so.I have tried all third party softwares but all falls flat.I own a N82 and my beloved SE W810i pwns him through both headfones and external speakers. My Next device will be SE.

I completely agree. Even my great n95 8gb doesnt compare headphone bass wise with my w850. Mind you before the flame wars begin. I am only talking about the bass.

well its not nokia's fault that you went after its cheapest offering now is it? try a N95 and N81 with an expensive piece of headsets, not the cheap ass ones that SE gives, and then make a fair and logical judgment.
if you still arnt satisfied, then i'm afraid you're an amature who only likes MP3 players which provide big, excessive and unneeded bass a.k.a mega bass.

@QVGA: I own creative ep-630 earphones.I have tested both N82 and W810i and for me the W810i sounds more pleasant.N82 has way too much treble even at bass booster.

if there is too much treble, then just lower it from the EQ. Why use the presets? Nokia has given you a 10 bar EQ compared to 5 bar in SE.

the equalizers hardly wrok...and btw the xpressmusic series are supposed to have a dsp chip which the n81 and n95 lack..

the equalizers are shit...hugely unresponsive...

All in all..nokia dissapoints in the music department...mayb they should bring out another brick in the form of the n91 to help matters

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that statement sounds? I've extensively tested the N95 and YES the EQ do work. They arent there for show offs you know. Or probably you altered the wrong Frequency band. Do you know which band represents the highs?
