Hey all!
It's finally time to start making some applications for this little baby (W960i). I've been searching high and low for this, but neither SE or UIQ have any guides when it comes to this;
Installation of UIQ3 SDK (with GCC-E) and Carbide is almost like hell on earth. There are two reasons why I'd like to use Carbide as my IDE;
1: I've been using Eclipse to develop Java applications
2: CodeWarrior is being phased out in favor of Carbide by Nokia
Anyone got any complete setup instructions for Carbide, GCC-E and UIQ 3.0 on Windows? What I mainly have a horror with is getting Carbide to make use of GCC-E properly (a whole lot of PATH problems while compiling).
Thank you all and I'll see you around!

Last time I tried Carbide didn't install on Vista.
If I were you, I suggest you install a new XP machine on a VirtualPC2007 (from Micro$oft and it's free), and do your SDK installations on that virtual machine.
It's hell to use your main machine for that. The full SDK and IDE needs so many installations and path tweaking it's almost madness.

It's a shame that SE relies on development tools created by it's competitor NOKIA. Nokia intented carbide for their s60 that's why setting it up for UIQ is hell! S60 in carbide already has RAD GUI while UIQ is left behind. Maybe that's the reason why UIQ softwares is scarce.
If possible, SE should buy VISTAMAX and give it free to the public.....
Lastly, SE should have made all it's handsets UIQ to promote more software development. If WALKMAN can have UIQ then why not CYBERSHOT too??

Could you tell us exactly where you're having problems? My experience installing Carbide has always been very smooth.
