Hi,
I'm looking at the best mobile GPS solution and I gound this: Holux GPS Slim 236 Bluetooth GPS Reciever
Review:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/gr236.php
Specs:
http://www.holux-uk.com/index.php?page=products/236index.php
Now - can I use it with my k850i? If yes - can anyone tell me how? Do I need do install additional software? Or maybe just google maps and this receiver would do?
For the UK users - when you're using a setup like this one - mobile phone and GPS receiver + google maps - is there a cost involved? I'm not sure how it works:) I can imagine that I'm getting data from GPS so there is no network data download involved - am I correct here?
Help:)
Thank you
Daniel

there are several j2me applications for GPS like Trekbuddy, Navigami, Wayfinder, Mobile GMaps, if I'm not mistaken latest Google Maps also supports gps. you can find all of them by searching in
http://www.getjar.com
All these programs will allow you to use any bluetooth GPS device on k850.
You don't pay for GPS, but if your application downloads lots of colourful maps, then you will need to pay for GPRS. But some of those apps work offline (Trekbuddy, Mobile GMaps and Navigami do so)

Highly recommend
www.nav4all.com - it works great with the GPSlim 236. I have yet to get GoogleMaps mobile to recognize the BT GPS...
What I really like about nav4all is that once you set a route, it downloads all the instructions on how to get there and from there on you don't need to depend on data service. Google maps continuously downloads the route so if there is a whole in service you loose your map point.

I never knew that Nav4all stores downloaded maps on the phone, it's really great
, I just don't use online apps because none of them have maps for Armenia, Yerevan - that's why I use Trekbuddy with my own maps

Sirf star III receivers have superior quality and SE is a company that respects their clients and produce hardware that may work without the extra costs.
I m sure that the K850 will be a cheaper and more efficient GPS device than any Nokia (N95+N82).
The GPS gadget will come with some short of software and when it will be available, all of the new programs will support it.
Its just too early for that, since the mobile community isnt fully accustomed to it.
With a free compatible soft and with the right maps downloaded from your pc to our M2, K850 will be a free and efficient GPS device!
