Hi
Grateful for some assistance. I cannot log into forums when browsing the web via GPRS or WLAN on my W960 using O2 UK.
The vbulletin board on a site I use regularly allows me to log in, but instead of redirecting to main forum after log in, it sends me back to the initial log in screen. It has worked once, but sent me back to the log in screen straight away when I clicked on one of the subject headers.
Is this an issue with settings on my phone?
If it is an issue with the phone itself, is there a java application available that allows forum access?

not the best solution but you can use some third party browsers like Opera...in fact i guesses its better than the built in browser...
but other members might give you better advice.....

..no, it depends on the way your gprs portal handles connections (it sometimes makes the server you're logged onto invalidate your session, by connecting with a different external ip- address, or something of that sort)...
Have you tried hooking off the "remember me" button? That works sometimes.

Also, try deleting cookies, or private data, or whatever it's called on opera.

I tried deleting private data and checking the Remember Me option. It now allows me to log in to the forum index, however as soon as I attempt to click one of the forum links it sends me straight back to the log-in screen. Any other ideas? B

this is an o2 mobile web issue. i had this problem with my old p990. o2 mobile web wont let you log in and stay logged in using the default opera browser. the browser will work perfectly over wifi though, guarantee it.
i rang data support and they said they cannot guarantee an external website will react normally with mobile web. so there you go.
its a network issue, maybe not specific to o2, but it is certainly an issue with their data service. download opera mini and use is for forums etc. it does work, even with o2

Thanks for the reply. You are right that forum access works fine on WLAN. I've downloaded and installed Opera Mini 4 (generic version as W960 was not listed), however I'm still getting the same problem as before when I attempt to log in to the vbulletin forum via GPRS.
Are there any other settings I need to consider?
