Hi i posed in the w960 bug thred but no1 has answered, and i need an answer today so i can take my phone back tomorow if its faulty so i post here aswell, sorry if it bothers any1
*Original Post*
"Hi i have had a w960 since 29th november.
I havent rly tho about it all that much but i think i have a buged phone.
If i am playing music and i get a phone call or alarm goes off the phone Displays it and Vibrates like it should do. But it dont ring it just beeps a few times and continues to Vibrate.
I am not sure if its suposed to be that way but i havent seen any options about it.
and i read that Opera mobile should be preinstaled.
"For all UIQ 3 phones Opera is already preinstalled." quoted from Operas website.
http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/products/
But i dont think i have it. i just have a standard SE web browser. but im thinking SE have changed the look of Opera and maybe i got it cuz i think i have Tabs atleast (Using opera mini atm so not sure)
*EDIT* Okej i think it might be Opera cuz it reminds alot about Opera on my computer.
And also i have noticed that sometimes my alarms dont go off, i havent tested this so it might be a dumb fool who has set up the alarm wrong hehe.
would be great if some1 could confirm thies stuff as bugs or if im doign something wrong.
*End Original post*
So if any1 could confirm this bug i would be very happy.

Well, as long as it doesn't vibrate longer than it should, it's supposed to just beep. In case you, like I have, used a part of a tune I like as a ring- tone, probably. Imo, there should be some options on that, but...
And opera is preinstalled. It's called "Web" in the program list (and it has tabs).
The alarms. It's a recurring issue. A lot of people have reported problems with it, but it's never possible to figure out what the settings were when it happened, or whether it's actually a bug - and possibly connected to the cda they're using. It's certainly possible that the date- format is the source of a bug, but it's been impossible for anyone to really isolate it, or even prove it's really there, it seems - or maybe if it's because of some sort of polling to the time- api by another program in some way *shrug*, who knows.
But for what it's worth, I've never had a problem with it on any of the firmwares on my p1, and I'm not really sure what to say.. except check your settings in "Time", and be sure to define your hometown properly, the start of the week, as well as the workdays. And then be sure to check when setting alarms that you select the "workdays" or "next 24h" in the way you want (in the time- application. But the same should apply to calendar alarms). If the problem still turns up after that, and you can describe exactly what the alarms were set on, and that you can reproduce it, and describe how they didn't go off, etc - it'd be nice if you could file a few reports around, and give SE some.. attention.

Right, no, I mean when you have the media- player running, there should be an irritating beep instead of a ringtone (and it should only sound in the headset, I think.. hm.). When the media- player is paused, it should be back to normal again (whether you have the headset plugged in or not).

I had mine playing some tunes on the bus before using my HPM-70 and I got a text message. As far as I could tell, I heard the beep noise through the earphones and the phone vibrated. It didn't seem like it made any sound from the speaker.
Hope that helps.

My w950i dont sound the message tone or the ringtone or the alarm tone when the media player is playing it's the same with my mate's w950i the only thing you can hear is a faint beep in the background and also the phone vibrates so i think it's a uiq 3 thing.

hi
when your alarm fails to go off and just vibrates, is it after a long period of inactivity (say overnight for example), do you have to take your battery out to turn the phone off?
i have alarm based problems with my w960, or so i thought, but ive stopped using my alarms and i find there are still issues each morning, before i can get the phone to function properly at speed and without freezing it needs reset.
maybe the issue is actually memory leakage over long periods of inactivity, and when the alarm suddenly kicks in and demands whatever ram is left for its operation, the phone just keels over and locks up?

Mine has been on for over a week now and it hasn't crashed or anything. I don't have any non-standard apps installed apart from Opera Mini?
