> NEW GPS-Wayfinder Active Beta version
Bookmark topic
Got a offer in my mailbox to try Wayfinders new GPS-service, called Wayfinder Active Outdoors. It's only a Beta-version, and still buggy as I have worked out, gotta try it some more though. Works as a logger/recorder of your outdoor activities such as running, hiking, cycling, kind of like SportsDo, only it's supposed to handle topografic maps (download/purchase) as well as road maps(free) and, I think, guide on routes. It didn't work to download the P1i version, but both M600 and P990 versions work. Download and try. BTW, topo maps is only available in Sweden for now, and ofcourse, it will use internet, so mind your traffic costs.

If somebody is finding out any "tips & tricks" about this app, please post here!

Have you been able to buy maps within the program? I have tried with both M600 and P990 version and the first time it seemed to work, but when I pushed the "buy" button I got a server failure report.
After that I tried numerous times, but now the program asks me for activation code?!?
I know it's a beta, but it doesn't seem to work very well...even for a beta!

Nope, haven't had any contact with the server. Only tried it first time yesterday, thought I'd post it here for someone more tech gifted person to try it. Managed to record a little car trip atleast, but no maps

I had a feeling that it wasn't my phone...!
It seems like Wayfinder have abandoned their product. The "active outdoor" forum seems dead. Even the support. Hope someone here finds a way...

I hope so too! This app is what I've been looking for, the topo maps would be great for hunting and snowmobiling, and it would be fun to log my motorcycle trips on my favourite roads, and laps on occational track days.
It seems as someone got it to work atleast, the latest routes uploaded is from today! With map! (not topo)

sounds fabulous. except i don't need most of it.
all i want is a simple app that tracks where i've been. for everything else i have tomtom, which i am happy with.
so, does anybody know of an app that would allow me to use the tomtom-gps receiver to track my movements and export the tracks to a format that can be used in google earth?
that would be fab
regards

@Jooman: I've actually had some luck today with this app! Had maps, no topo maps though, but when I tried to purchase, I actually came as far as inputting my credit card and address info, after that I got an error message. I just hope they didn't steal me on ~200 SEK without me getting any maps:-)
It seems as the P1 isn't supported as device yet, according to their web site. I have to make sure I start my Web app first, so the internet globe appears, before I use WF Active. It seems as the app itself cannot start the semc GPRS connection.
I think this will be a great app as soon as the problems and bugs has been solved!

@mikekop
I also managed to get through the fields with credit card, name and adress. The same thing happend, an error page showed up, but until now no money has been charged. I hope they solve this problem.
I think I read somewhere that support for P1 will be released in March, don't rememeber where I read it though. I think it can be a really great product if they only get rid of all the strange bugs.
