> Debranding an Orange Uk K850i, should I use DavinciTeam?

Hi Guys
Over the last month my girlfriend has been going mad (& driving me insane too) about how slow and frustrating her K850 is with all the orange branded rubbish slapped all over the user interface. This was compounded even more in the last few days when her friend was showing her, her O2 k850 with its practically SE factory settings firmware.
As the title suggests I'm looking at getting her phone debranded and obviously wanting to update it to the latest firmware. After searching etc i've found DavinciTeam repeatedly crop up by yourselves and others as a good reliable way of doing this.
Now being an utter novice at this kind of thing and having never debranded a phone or updated a firmware in my entire life please could I ask for your (or anyone else thats done this) help in this matter in explaining step-by-step how to do this and any hints and tips in making the process as easy and straight forward as possible.
As i said its an Orange Uk branded phone currently on software version 1200-4398 R1CA029 070922.
Having looked at the DavinciTeam site what service do i actually require? how many credits do i need? Do i need any new cables other than the supplied usb to fastport data cable? Can i run this on my Mac or do i need a PC to debrand? Or do i just take her phone to CPW (or another phone unlocking/debranding shop) as an Orange store goon suggested to get it debranded there?
All i want to do is remove the horrific Orange firmware and update to the latest SEUS firmware.
Thanks for your patience guys and looking forward to your help
Cheers

Hi there,
I have not used Davinci since the k800i days but I know it has changed slightly since then. I know that they did not offer the generic SE firmware but you could flash it with the O2 one which is virtually like the generic one as you know. They may have added the generic one by now, perhaps someone who has used it within the last week or so can tell you.
You will need 10 credits (which is 10 Euros) to perform the flash. There is a great guide available on the DavinciTeam site located
here. All you need is the USB cable that came with your phone to perform the flash.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I have a K850i with generic firmware debranded by DaVinci. Previous firmware was Orange branded but my phone hase an unbranded original firmware of SE now. DaVinci client is very easy and you need of credit to use it. This credit's=10Euro. Unbranded generic firmwares on the database are called Customized firmware. You need to choise one of them for instance- Customized UK unbranded. I wish you success!
