I am not a tech head so apologies if the question is a bit dim - I have RTFM by the way, LOL!

Will I be able to save all my data and settings when updating if I back up the phone using the supplied SE software? Having loaded a lot of music and spent ages setting all my preferences, I don't want to have to start from scratch again!

Cheers guys!

It's not possible to update without losing your stuff, but you can do a total backup before the update and then restore it afterwards, and you should have all the stuff with a few exceptions on the applications / games, as some aren't fully developed for the backup / restore process.

Thanks Mizzle!

If I do a total backup do I simply then download the backup back to the phone after the update and it will automatically reinstall all my settings, preferences and music???

Cheers,

When U do a backup using the SE software U will still lose the voicemarks in the phonebook, all the grading and mood settings on the music. The 8 GB memory is not deleted during the install, just the grading and mood settings. I haven't found a way of saving those settings. It sucks... Good luck.
