If not handsets what will they do? They're exiting their main field. Motorola is synonymous with Mobile Phones.Is this what too much competition does?

Phones is only a part of their business. They are quite big in semiconductors too afaik
I think Moto's downfall was relying to heavily on the V3 RAZR. They kept it going for so long without developing anything as good to replace it.

I am aware of he semi conductors part. What I meant was if you think motorola, the first thing that comes to your mind is the Mobilephone. Btw, this sounds a tad far fetched at this moment. But who knows..
