the k850 is utter crap i'm not sure it could be saved by a modded camdriver,
if you add more sharpness in the driver you will add to the grainy pics problem,
add more colour saturation you will add to the colour fringing problem
reduce the compression and you will add to the pixel errors (noise) problem.

there is NO way to access the k850i's filesystem anyway.

Is there a way to write a simple noise reduction code in camdriver?

and AFAIK compression isn't related to noise, it won't hide the noise, actually increasing compression will create more noise due to the fact that jpeg compression is lossy.

Why all 5mp CMOS based camphones are inferior to K800/K810 quality-wise

nope theres no way to add noise reduction to driver, only way to reduce noise is to use higher shutter speed and lower iso.
most se phones compress the picture to hide the noise notice how the k850 don't look noisey look at 1 of them in full size and zoom in a bit and sometimes you can see the noise compressed into the picture. the outdoor k850i pics are very grainy and full of pixel errors over exposed and the colours are washed out.
