for some reason my w960 has stopped telling me when i have a new message. the message appears in my inbox but i dont get any on screen pop up saying that a message has arrived. so i dont know if i have any messages until i check my inbox.
everything worked fine until the other day and i dont think i accidentally changed any settings. is this a bug or is there a simple way to fix it that i am missing? its a really annoying problem that i wold definately like to fix.
i havent installed any applications (apart from gogle maps) or profiles and the profile i use is business with the walkman shortcut switched off.
any ideas anyone?

On your Phone Go to Control panel -> Device -> Sounds & Alerts -> Message Alerts. Tick "Display notification" then save. This will solve your problem, Let me know your result.

The business profile does this, same happened to me, assume it only started happening after you switched?

As above try that, should work okay.

re business profile, i changed to this a few days after i got the phone, about 2 weeks ago. the messages were working fine until yesterday, so i dont think it can be a direct result of changing profile.

rishone, i followed your instructions and 'display notification' was already ticked. weird! so i unticked it, saved, then shut down and rebooted the phone. then i went back into the settings and re-ticked the box. saved settings and sent myself a text and it vibrated and displayed the notification as it should.

so, problem solved but not really explained, seems like a bug of some description to me,
thanks for your help and quick replies.

I think if you'd only rebooted the phone that would solve your problem It's even recomended that you reboot your phone every now and then.
