When I open up the folder drop-down list from the Select Audio Files dialogue, the list has no apparent order to it - there's a section from one drive followed by a section from another, and none of it in alphabetical order. What's going on?!

Are there really no UnrealPlayer users here who haven't experienced this before?

I use powerMP3 or Alon MP3 player. Both are better than unreal IMO
