im on a 256 broad band connection and till yesterday afternoon i had no probs at all....
but since then by browsing speed has dipped a lot!
could not open any pages. it improved today morning but is no faster than a 56k!
my fire fox's history got deleted too!
and the weirdest part is i my download speed has not been affected at all..
so is the prob with my PC or my connection????
help guys

There's nothing wrong with your PC, as I've heard in the news that probably an underseas cable has broken, affecting internet traffic in the Middle East and India.
As far as I've heard, it'll take a few days, before internet in the region will work normally again.

Apparently this time it's a cable between Sicily (Italy) and Egypt.
Egypt lost 70% of its bandwidth, India 50-60%.
This night they're going to try to start it up again, but at a lower speed and with less bandwidth.

@marly - I do remember seeing at CNN years ago when that underwater cable had a problem in Taipei, I saw some professional sea-divers fixing the cable underneath . . . I am accessing CNN's site now, but have NOT seen this latest news which happened in ME and India . . .
