> O2's Data Plans and Unlimited options
Bookmark topic
Looks like O2 have done it again with the amazing O2 web bolton options they are doing. Which you can either get foc on a tariff or get it for £7.50 a month. Unlimited internet usage, its not restricted to a fair usage policy like t mobile web n walk, or vodafone web option.
Looks like O2 is back where it belongs with data. and if you dont have a data option then unlimited browsing on a daily basis will not cost you more than a £1 similar to t mobile i believe.
They have got rid of the 200mb option on the old O2 web bolton for O2.
Even the tariffs are amazing, giving you unlimited texts, landline calls etc. as the name says it is unlimited, no subject to fair usage policy with that either.
Looks like O2 have knocked every other network out of place in the UK and will continue to do so with these plans. No wonder they best network in the UK and have the highest customer base in the UK.
and the broadband service has been rated number 1 by thinkbroadband

* Fair usage of 2000 minutes per month applies to O2 Calls Freedom and a 2000 text per month fair usage applies to O2 Text freedom.

Wait I have an o2 contract which has 600 minutes but i got this in Oct.
Does that mean i cannot use the new unlimited web bolt on despite the website claim of "if you have over 600mins one of the bolt ons are free" (or words to those effect) because i got my contract in Oct and am not a new customer?

that has to be propgranda... there is no way on Gods green earth they would offer unlimited and mean it... unlimited data could cost O2 1000s and 1000s of £s....
with a 3G phone, you can in theory download at 32K/s, thus giving you 112mb of data an hour, that caned 247 would equate to 79Gb of traffic.... O2 would never let that happen.... they after all have to pay for the data transfer...
as for texts.. we won't go there.... I could easily hook up a phone to my PC, create a gateway and post that online.. resulting in millions of texts a month.. again, O2 won't allow this....
or are there Ts and Cs involved? in which case, you wanna read them VERY carefully....

@ fatreg the fair usage policy is replaced by the term "excessive usage policy" If O2 thinks you are way using too many sms or calls or data than the average person. They will call you to discuss the usage, they will not bar you or remove that service, but they will ask you to try and lower the usage down a little and if the customer repeats the same usage after the warning, O2 has the right to remove that option away from your account.
@p900 lover, unlimited usage at the best speed available in your area. so if your area has 3g coverage then at 3g speed, if your handset normally picks up edge then at the edge speed.
@5nak3 if you are on a 18 month contract, then you can simply ask to be switched to the updated tariff at the same price your own if its £35 a month or more your tariff then you can pick whatever free option you want, weather that is internet/sms or o2 to o2 calls or whatever. But you need to ask to be switched to the updated new priceplan to get this.

Lovely, tomorrow I'll be getting in contact with the nice people at o2 customer services and get me the unlimited data bolt on
If all goes to plan, o2 will have themselves an extremely happy customer...if not well, I'll blame Esato for my disappointment as if I hadn't been reading the posts I would have never known about it.
