I have a Sony Ericsson P1i, its O2 branded but I can use any sim card on it, I bought a Vodafone pay as you go sim card, and everything is working fine except that I dont have GPRS and 3G, I put the sim card into my brother's P990i and GPRS and 3G are working but on my P1i, it is not.

Also, underneath the 'vodafone UK' logo on the P1i screen, its displays the number '0208' what the hell does that mean, I have called vodafone and they cant do anything about it, I have had settinngs sent from both vodafone and sony ericsson, still nothing has changed, the '0208' is still there, no GPRS or 3G, does anyone know what I should do, please. I'll really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Turn on 3G in your phone. To do that

Control Panel -> Connections -> Mobile networks -> More -> GSM/3G Networks -> Select GSM and 3G. a restart is Recommended.

Hope this will solve your problem, let me know

Good to Know that it worked,

And one more tip for you - If u think the Battery life is Low, Turn Off the 3G (it will Double the Battery Life, Turn it on when u need).

as for the strange numbers on the main screen - it was a while ago that i was on voda but when i was they supported a feature called cell info display. you could sett it to show info such as current area code - if this is what it is then you should be able to turn it off in the network options in control pannel?
