Sound is better than K800 - if use it with a good pair of headset - it comes with the infamous Mega Bass equilizer preset

Camera is not as good as K800 - but Ok - There is Green tinge problem for a lot people.

One in All P1i is Good phone.

@dandy - If you are KEEN on usin' the fone's camera . . . then the K850i is the fone for you . . . 5 MP vs 3.2 MP

If you are into PDA fones and NOT yet in a hurry in gettin' one . . . then better wait for the usccessor of the P1i which MIGHT be OUT this year . . .

hmmm ,,,, i got the p1i for 6 weeks now,and if i knew about the phone what i know now i would not buy it at all !!!
nor i would buy the K850i,my boss has this one ,after a week having it the green color of the D pad started to get damaged, the phone looks old and ugly this way, says a lot about the quality of the product, she tells me that her old K800i had better pictures too..... if you want an SE then you must wait until SE will wake up and make something good.for me it is clear,my old W800i was a great phone that surprised me again and again , the P1i disappoint me again and again, stay away, only if we the customers will show a muscle to SE only then they will do something about it.

As a P1i user, I would certainly disagree with the pt020 opinion

The latest P1i firmware pretty much fixed the green tint issue. The camera was horrible, but it was fixed. Please go over the thread 'P1i green tint issue fixed by firmware' section to see sample photos so you can judge it yourself.

I was P800 user prior P1i. I would say the phone is rated 9/10 in my opinion. It is the true beast of 'all around phone' - in terms of business use, entertainment and its very solid build.

P1i is not the best camera phone in the market - although it satisfy 90% of my need in taking 'candid' photos here and there. Especially if this photo is going to end up in your facebook, printed up to in 1600x1200 - 3.2MP is very satisfactory.

At time of purchase, the reason I bought P1i is the striking compromise of look (style) and functionality. N95 is clearly a better phone, but I just can't stand its model which I found very 'common' among other Nokia phones. iPhone on the other hand has excellent appeal in terms of look but lack seriously on all around functionality.

I would certainly recommend P1i as one of the top tier smart phone out there in the market.

Other option that I would have explored if I have not bought P1i would be HTC Touch Cruise.

that's why we have forums to agree and disagree,go to this topic http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=101000&start=1380 look at the pictures there and tell me ,are your pictures better then this? this are pictures of almost 3 years old phone!!! and i am used to this quality that as good as it was i wanted more,OK P1i is the most beautiful phone ,love the keyboard too,but all is so complicated ,nothing straight forwards, example: lets say you have an appointment,in the old one the reminder was part of programing the appointment ,here you must make the reminder separately, everyone criticized the W960 back button moved to the keyboard, i must say that it would be nice if it will move on the P1i too,cos it is so "good" built in that you have to look for it and when i push it i have to use some power,as i do it my opposite finger opens the camera....
SE would love that i will be a customer like you ,that i will be happy with everything they throw at me,but sorry i have to work for my money, and for 400€ i do not expect half baked phone

about P1i is not a camera phone.... no it is not,nor walkman or anything else
the W800i was a walkman not a camera phone too,but it made great pictures,it was not managers phone but had great agenda, had it 21/2 years, did not update it even once, was no need, bought lots of accessories, that now most of them are not supported by the p1i ...like the xenon flash MXE-60,why? it has only leds! like the W800i,but there i could use it and the night pictures were great, see 3 examples below. also the idna remote dose not work on it,pity cos i have the hpm-82 remote too,but it is not so good as the idna remote.
The volume in the P1i is very low,the browser get stuck very often ,,,only way to go on is to restart the phone by taking it's battery out!,music player dose not remember last song, shuffle does not work at all,,sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds until it starts playing a song,no volume adjustment when screen on something else (only on headset,if you have a remote),no keyboard buttons for FF/FR or any other music players functions, the one on the touch screen is inaccurate and it takes again few sec to the phone to start playing, so it is not a walkman phone either.what kind of phone is it then?
there are to many no things on the P1i that i see it as a step backwards,i am bit pi***d so you will understand me (i hope) but good friend of mine has got the iphone... and playing with it lets me see where sony ericsson missed

P1i is not a camera phone ... yes good excuse, but from 3,2 i expect more then from 2,0 show me one picture of your p1i that is better then this

Thanks for taking the time to response to my opinion

I do feel that you have not truly learn the potential of your own phone. If you're happy with W800, then it's your call - but certainly P1i is certainly not like you said. Here is what I could say regarding your sometimes unsupported opinion.

The volume in the P1i is very low

To be honest with you... I set my volume for ring tone not even like 2 bars before maximum, it is very audible indeed. Regarding call volume... I can't imagine what kind of environment you need for louder setting?. I've called people in busy area, office, bedroom, party - and I could hear perfectly.

Of course, if you're in uber noisy party - then the only way is to exit the area.. I think this is standard for any phone.

the browser get stuck very often ,,,only way to go on is to restart the phone by taking it's battery out!,

I personally rarely use SE browser. I use Opera Mini. It never get stuck, and way better. This is the pros of P1i that has alot of customized software!

music player dose not remember last song, shuffle does not work at all,,sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds until it starts playing a song,no volume adjustment when screen on something else (only on headset,if you have a remote),

You can download music player for P1i, theres alot of decent one out there

no keyboard buttons for FF/FR or any other music players functions,

Again, P1i is not a music phone nor it is designed to. If you look at the smart phone that is on the market - most don't have it.

so it is not a walkman phone either.what kind of phone is it then?

It's a smart phone. When people bought smart phone - they were expecting certain things. Excellent organizer, RAM power, Office support, WI-FI, 3G Capability, QWERTY Keyboard, Blackberry support, typically Symbian or Windows Mobile application, and so on-and so on

These factors are clearly far more important for smart phone users than music and taking picture. If you're so much into music and taking picture then W800 is for you, no mistaking for it

---------------------
Regarding quality picture

It's really a white-out condition this morning in Toronto.

I don't know if P1i picture is inferior enough from W800 ... comparing with your sample
