I've made this setting right now:
'Internet Accounts', 'More','Options' and 'CS Only'. The blue triangle disappeared from the signal bar. The status of the GPRS is not attached.
If I want to create an internet connection the blue triangle appears. Did anybody try this? I think if the phone makes GPRS 'attach' only when it needs to use GPRS it will require less power... So I use it now this way...

That's a correct assumption, as CS=Circuit switched & PS=packet switched. In CS mode, the connection only activates when the circuit (i.e. your phone) requires it. The only thing you sacrifice as far as I can see is access time to the network, as it has to connect to your network providers gateway every time it's used, rather than being permanently 'attached'.

yes, it has to connect every time. but it require 2-3 seconds, no more. I don't use the network very much so I prefer more standby time. (Not as Nokia E70 it switches the display totally off so if I do not bother the device it could run for days..).. I had r520m years ago, and it had a same setting - but it didn't attach to GPRS when I used the setting "Automatic".
