Woo! After trying for about a week to get Album art to show up on my w610, I finally found a way to produce album art and sync my phone all with itunes.

First, download http://www.binaryfortress.com/itunes-sync (-Binary Fortress)

For Syncing, and http://www.brothersoft.com/mp[....]t_importer_download_63611.html (-YVG.com) To find the album art.

Both of these programs require .NET framework 2.0

Naturally you have to have some version of iTunes...

I did this with a K550 flashed to w610 with 4GB card, and songs encoded in HE-AAC using the .M4A container.

Make sure your Artists and Albums are all labeled correctly, as the Art importer searches Amazon.com based on correctly spelled artists and albums.

1. Run iTunes and then open the art importer.

2. IN ITUNES, highlight (SHIFT + up and down, Ctrl A, whatever...) the songs you wish to modify. You can do multiple albums at once. (I did 80. =P )

3. Scan! now, with the songs still highlighted in iTunes, move over to the art importer, check whether or not you want the auto import, or to replace current artwork. Once your through with those items, click the scan/search button represented by a magnifying glass.

4. Apply! If you selected to auto import best guess, you don't have to do this step as the artwork has already been imported.

5. Notes.

>with more than one song selected in an album, it will scan matches for every song. If you want to work around this, select one song in an album (one album at a time!), find a match. Once matches are found you can choose the best matching cover (if multiple results appear). Go back and highlight the entire album and select apply. Works if you have auto import but will only auto import selected song.

>If it fails to yeild results, you can adjust modifiers such as the search criteria or number of Amazon pages searched. (for me I had to simply type "Saosin" to find a suitable cover, for example.)

iTunes Sync.

When starting iTunes sync, iTunes will load if not already running.

Firstly, you should create a playlist you wish to sync to your phone or player (iPod included.) iTunes sync can sync DRM'd audio as well as podcasts and video. But no guarantee your phone/player will play the files.

Next, you must configure your MP3 device. You can configure many profiles, change folder structures, tagging, etc. Associate the playlist in the dropdown during configuration.

Your device will not show up under iTunes. But you do get it's files. Right click the iTunes Sync icon in the taskbar and Synchronize Device.

The next window will allow you to choose the player to synchronize, if you have more than one connected.
Select the drive letter that will be synched. The chosen folder structure will be applied to that drive.

Click "Sync MP3 Player." The progress bar will fiddle around, and then give you a summary of what files will be deleted and uploaded. There's a checkbox and leaving it UNchecked will allow you to retain files marked for deletion if you wish. Click OK and synching will begin.


PLease please please use a card reader... LOL. Through my phone I got a transfer rate of .4 mb/sec....

An easy way to identify any missing artwork is to cycle through your library through iTunes with Cover Flow. If there was previously NO art.

If you have more than one album being scanned, do not hit apply or else the art shown will be applied to all songs regardless of album.

If I'm right, your Walkman 2.0 phone should now display artwork... It worked with my 2000+ songs. =)

If you already have album art for your music collection (I already have folder.jpg for all mine so downloading it all again is pointless), you could also give this a shot.

I use it to resize + embed my existing 600x600 cover images at 100x100, works a treat and you can just stick the stuff on your phone via explorer.

Fixed Link.

And yes, if you already have album art by all means use the above software.

But for those who are having trouble with AAC or M4A files, this is the way to go.
