I thought for once that the firmware fixed the green tint and magenta thing altogether. But I was mistaken.
Yes it improved a lot. But look at this picture for instance, which I thought to be normal
The green tint is still there. It covers 50% of the right side of the screen. The 50% left side of the screen is magenta dominated. As you can visibly see, the sky is not of the same color on the right and left side of the photo.
Any thought? Now I think its really camera defect as oppose to firmware issue.

I think I can see it yeah (although the resized pic makes it difficult). And I also agree it's more likely hardware then software....
I had my P1i fixed for a bad speaker and they also changed the camera module (which I also noted as 'not properly working') and that seems to have solved or atleast majorly improved the green tint problem.
I do think they can fix it partially through software (or correct it) but they also have to think of the properly working modules. (That is, correct it for some but not for all).

dagrim1, what was the initial problem with your speaker, and which one was it, the internal (for normal use), or the external, i.e. Speaker phone?
I hear a crackling sound sometimes, like distorsion over the normal voice, on the internal speaker, and I wonder If I should make a trip to the service center...
cheers

I'm thinking of sending my unit too for repair.
But for that , im wondering if you could kindly post a picture of two - both indoor and outdoor preferred. Thanks dagrim

In the above pic I do not see a GREEN TINT on the left...It's the right side that is more purple/voilet in color... Earlier P1 pics sure have green tint but in this one I think the color of the whole pic should look like as the right side???? Am I right???

@giantfly: As you say... crackling sound on the internal (normal use, during conversation) speaker. DIstortion as if the speaker was turned up too high.
@ethelstan: I'll try and post something in the weekend.

I took a test shot of an A4 white bit of paper. I couldn't seen any discolouring, so I loaded up photoshop to enhance any colours in the image.
There is some tinting but I think it's the LEDs of the flash afftecting the edge colours (white LEDs are not uniform in their colour distribution). However, there is a significant green tint in the upper right quarter which is unlikely to be the LEDs.
I have to say though - without photoshopping it like this, I cannot see these tints on my photos.
