Never had this problem before on this or any other SE phone. When I try to download Google Maps (www.google.com/gmm on the phone; Google correctly identifies my model), the phone pops-up an "Invalid Application" message before it even starts downloading anything.
No other application or game causes this error on my S710a.
How do I get around this and download Google Maps?

S710 is a pretty old phone with an old java. It could be reading the jad file and not liking one of the capabilities it will need, or have the right certificate etc
Look in to the "user agent method" of supplying games and download the
www.google.com/gmm jad from your computer and look into it with notepad and download the jar and see what happens then.
