Scribbler by Fiendsoft is an application for taking extensive notes on your Sony Ericsson touch screen-powered smart phone. It works somewhat like the built-in Notes application, but differs by having almost no restrictions regarding to the size of your notes. Furthermore, you have sets of different tools available in Scribbler for making small pictures and cartoons along with your extensive notes.

So, how does this work? As you might already have guessed, it’s a bit different from the Notes application on Sony Ericsson smart phones. There is no support for word input, as all input is via the display. So, if you have a bad hand writing, then this will be visible in your electronic notes as well as on physical notes. You can write your notes in up to 16 different colours, and the electronic pen size can be altered from only a thin pen to a really thick one.

You can add different shapes to your notes, also in different colours. This makes it quite easy to do drawings, like a sun or a tree (as you can see in our samples!).
Once you’ve filled up the display with your notes, the application can (if set so) automatically scroll down the paper, and you can continue to write for eternity. It works quite good! If you feel lost in all your multiple pages of notes, there’s an overview feature, that works quite well.

Your scribbles can be saved for later editing, or be exported in bitmap format. While I would have wished for a JPEG export option, bitmap is OK, too. One more thing that could be improved is the graphical user interface - I found it somewhat hard to use in the beginning, but Gary, the developer of the application, has already made some serious improvements compared to earlier versions.
