Ok so my story starts when my k850i keypad stopped working around the new year. The middle touchkey would activate at random even when i wasnt touching the phone, the left touchkey stopped working altogether and if I pressed any key at all, the middle touchkey would activate too. Which rendered it impossible to use.
So I took it to my local Optus shop, filled out a service request form, and they sent it away to Sony Ericsson.
3 weeks later they send it back to the Optus shop, without a single thing done to it. The guy from Optus rang up Sony Ericsson, who said it was 'a mistake' and to send it back to them and it will be put on 'priority.' So this was around the 21st-22nd of January.
Another 3 weeks on, and hadn't heard a single thing about my phone. So I rang Optus up yesterday, and they told me they hadn't heard anything, but would try to find out what was going on. They rang me back this morning saying they tried calling 3 times and sent 2 emails but Sony Ericsson would not respond at all. Then I got a call again from Optus this afternoon. They had talked to Sony Ericsson who told them the phone 'had been tampered with' and they would not repair it, not even if I paid them. They did not even say if they would send it back to me or not.
Now the funny thing is that I don't even know how to open the damn thing, let alone tamper with it. So what does this mean? Do Sony Ericsson just not care about it's customers? Or do they just have the most ignorant/lazy staff of any company I have EVER dealt with? I just cannot believe a company such as Sony Ericsson can do this to its customers! What is the deal?
On a side note, assuming I ever actually get my phone back, does anyone know of a good mobile phone repairer in Victoria, Australia?
Or is there anything else I can do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps they mean the software is tampered with? Did you re-flash your phone or do anything along those lines?
Sounds really bad. I am in New Zealand and whenever I've needed a phone fixed, the service has always been slow and the people are stupid. I think the support in our countries is just crap.

Nope, nothing. I had updated the firmware once and that's it.

That's weird. SE usually do a great job at replacing/repairing handsets.
