plus does using an 8gb card with the phone hinder performance too much?

I use (or at least try to) an 8GB sdhc loaded with 6Gig of music and it's soooo sloooow to get to a track, pretty much unusable. Once there, it plays fine. Not sure how it performs with a M2 at that size (fine with a 1GB). Just waiting for the lastest rumored FW ungrade to see if this problem is sorted and thus, if I keep the phone.

I have a 4 GB M2, packed with roughly 2.2 GB of music and it works fine.

I dont really think there will be a big difference between those two cards, from speed point of view.
But I had the 4 Gb M2 card already before I bought the K850i. Now I would prefer the microSD card since its a little bit cheaper (at least here in Netherlands).

a user was reporting that, using a Micro SD SDHC will slow down its speed significantly, so its the best bet to use M2 stick for now, as i believe it's just a matter of ironing off the bugs

Simple tip to access your files faster on big memory cards (tested for ms/m2, not sure abt sd though) in an SE phone. Simply organize your files in folders of 10-15 files, the smaller the number the better, and you will have a fast and smooth performance as though you are using a 16mb card (which literally doesn't exist anymore)

I must admit that I am concerned the new SE products will be as slow once people put large cards in them. When I played with the C902, my first reaction was 'wow, they've finally fixed everything' as the phone was much quicker than the K850i. The media player was instantaneous, but of course, it had barely any content on it. I'm not even sure if it had a memory card, let alone what the capacity was.

I am using my K850 sith an 8GB microsdhc and it works like a charm, i have now loaded about 4GB of music videos and pictures (mostly music) and i have no problem accessing it with media player.
One tip i would advise is to use media manager 1.1 (can be downloaded from ) to load the media on your card. Media Manager organizes all your music in folders by artist and album so accessing and indexing is done much faster.

Winamp also sorts the music into folders by artist I think... but yes I use an 8gb Micro SD HD card, and the start up time for the phone is slower (it spends a long time with the Sony Ericsson logo on), and browsing the media player it's very sluggish. Also, if i remove and reinsert the card, it seems to freeze for around 5-10 seconds while it reads the card.

I only have around 2gig of music on the card; 6gig free.
I find it tolerable though; I rarely restart the phone, and I use playlists for the media player; if you just leave it to play, playback never stutters, and the gaps between tracks are very small. Storing photos from the camera, and normal non-memory-stick use (texting, use of menus etc) is unaffected as far as I can tell.

So does anyone know, if the K850i can handle a Sandisk M2 with 8GB?
