> An e-paper cellphone - Readius
Bookmark topic
This is the coolest device i've seen out of MWC '08 thus far..ok, only next to the X1..
This is Readius, a phone by Polymer Vision..this phone has got a foldable 5-inch display which can be used for viewing email, podcast, documents file, and Internet browsing on the go..
Apart from that it has also got some nice features like 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth, a microSD slot capable of taking the latest 8GB cards, 256MB internal storage and eight touch-sensitive buttons for navigation and control. These can be used to pick out individual menu options or sections of a webpage, or for scrolling by stroking up or down the button array. The Readius can be flipped round and held in either hand, making it equally suitable for left- or right-handed users.
The only drawback I see is that to use as this as a phone you'll always have to use a wired or BT headset..
here's a live pic..
and a really nice hands on video..

The phone will be available in mid 2008.

Well the size is one's preference..but about the B&W screen Polymer guys said this is an introductory version..another version with a color screen that can play videos aswell is being developed..
For me, personally, the design is the main thing that stands out
Might even give it a try once that colored, video capable version becomes available.

With a colour screen and a few of the wrinkles ironed out (-I didn't quite catch what he said about the battery, but I think he meant it couldn't be taken out or replaced) this could be interesting. Certainly very innovative.
